Eireene Nealand’s stories, poems and translations have appeared in ZYZZYVA, Sidebrow, WHR, Fourteen Hills, Absent, Transfer, elimae, and The St. Petersburg Review, among other places. Eohippus published her first chapbook and you can find copies of her first full-length book The Nest here.

Eireene’s work has received multiple awards including a Fulbright Fellowship, an Elizabeth Kosova Fellowship for study in Bulgaria and an Ivan Klima Fellowship for study in Prauge. To her degrees from UC Berkeley and San Francisco State, she recently added a Ph.D. in Literature from UC Santa Cruz, where she studied proprioception, a neurobiological phenomenon that allows us to see textures and shifts.

She also translates Russian and Bulgarian poetry and prose and is currently at work on a novel.
